Been a long time...

So as you can tell, I am not super consistent with the whole blog thing. So I shall try to update you on our life over the last few months.

July-August
In Albuquerque for 3 weeks and Colorado for a week. Bliss. Love being with family. Well, we were minus blake for 3 weeks, that was painful. But I had lots of help with the boys!
We celebrated my sister Tara and bro-in-law James getting married! There was an Albuquerque family shindig and then a Colorado family party. A good time was had by all!
Poor James was in a bicycle accident the week before coming to Albuquerque. So with a jaw broken in 3 places and several missing/chipped teeth, we brought him to New Mexico a few days sooner. He had to get his jaw wired shut. There are many other things I would rather have done than that... he was such a trooper!

The House...
Upon returning home, we found out we were approved for a down payment assistance program thru the county we live in. You basically have 30 days to sign a contract for a house and 30 days to close with this program. So we found the house in about, oh, 1 day! It was the first one we saw and just knew before we even went inside that it was the one! 1900 sq/ft, on 1/2 an acre in the best school district! Built in 1962, huge huge oak trees, room for a big garden and chickens! God had this place held for us!
We hit a few bumps, especially after having the radon tested. Over the limit set by the EPA, so the seller is wonderful and is fixing that plus a few other things. We should close by October 15!! My first house! I have dreamed of this since I was a kid! God has been so faithful and good thru all of this process! Now while I wait to close, I dream of paint and tile colors, outdoor furniture and interior decor! I am excited for my boys to have a huge yard to lose themselves in!
Now I am working hard on packing and weeding thru the piles I tend to create
and downsize a bit.
I have dreamed of having my own house since I was a kid. Surreal it is finally happening!

The front yard

The main living/dining/den/kitchen area
Note the original fixtures! They are cool. Needs some paint color and a good styling, but I can't wait to get in there and make it mine!

HUGE lanai! With the coolest terrazo floors!

Rather humongous tree on the side of the house

The Moose eating. It is what Moosies do best!

Emery on his first day of preschool. He is a sharp cookie! Already impressing his teachers. On his first evaluation he scored 100% on all his colors, shapes, letters and numbers. I have to brag!

I don't have all my pictures on my computer, they were downloaded onto Blake's. But you shall see more shortly. We did have a photo crisis on our trip. About 500 of the most amazing pictures I have taken in a long time were accidently deleted. Yea, big sick feeling in the pit of the old stomach when I think of it. But I will always have them in my mind...
I hope you are all doing well! Drop us a line! Hope to see you around soon!

We bid you peace and chocolate chip cookies!
Love,

A Gaunt in the Burque!

It has been a few weeks since I have posted. Mainly because I have been obsessed with looking at houses online! It is a bit adicting for me! We are praying about the perfect house for our little family. There is a great first time homebuyers program for the county we are in here in Florida. So hopefully by Thanksgiving! Feel free to pray along with us!!

I am in Albuquerque with the boys for 2 weeks. Blake will join us and then we will spend a week in Colorado. It is fabulous being with family in some nice dry heat! I am loving being outside! So are Emery and Max. They are having some great fun with cousin Matthew, he is 1 1/2. I will post up some pics this week of their great many hours of playing. Lots of fun activities planned. Here are a few pics from before we left.

Max loves to put things on his head in the car. He likes getting a laugh!

Always something in the mouth. I haven't mentioned yet that he is walking like mad!!

A usual morning when Dada is off work. I am fond of this crew!

A Moose and his horse.

He was running all around Grammie and Grandpa's house!

We send love you all!

Fun with Books

Well, Blake is at kid's camp until Wednesday. I am already trying to find projects to distract me. I remember when my dad had a business trip for a week, my mom couldn't sleep and would project away. She painted all the kitchen cabinets one of those weeks. From a walnut brown to light blue. Looked great! I told Blake that everything would be covered or embellished with book roses by the time he gets back. He knew I was only half kidding. So I may post a ridiculous amount of times on the blog this week. It is just so I feel like I have some adult conversation, even though it is with myself. Haha! So here is the first of hopefully a couple cute projects!

I just couldn't wait to put up this little crafty bit of fun I created this morning! I hope you enjoy! I will put up directions soon! Made from part of a book and 2 cereal boxes!

PS- So I relied on my kids to self entertain while finishing up the wreath, this is what the Moose was busy doing...

My little kitty, getting in the yarn. It is the 3rd ball he has done this to this week. I have now learned my lesson and put them up higher.
Much love to you on this rainy evening,
Hope your tomorrow is sunny!

Cupcake Coma

Here is a virtual taste of our day of baking for Emery's party.

Cupcakes galore. Chocolate Craziness with chocolate chips.

I like how they look like there is a cookie on top!

And we had to lick the spoon clean.

Waste not, want not.

I guess that is the seal of approval face.
Just before the chocolate sugar surge kicked in...
It was sweet while it lasted.
Stay tuned for a cowboy in his underwear pictures.
Emery, not Blake.
Happy Sunday.

Feature Friday!

So I will try to feature a website or blog that is terribly useful to your life.
I think that this one is the perfect starter.
He has the sweetest tidbits of design, recipes, and craft.
I may be in love with this blog! The eye candy below is one of his creations.
Plus he has a free online magazine that I shall feature next week.
Momma lika da free!
Have a look-see and enjoy!

PS- We had a lovely and sweaty time out by the pool with a few friends.

I was so busy running around I only took one poorly setup photo of the party!

But there are some good pics of the cupcakes and my little dough boy licking the spoon!

I am sleepy now and must crawl into bed. Though never fear. I will upload them.

Hopefully sooner than later!

So as the dutch would say, sleep deliciously!

A Month of Birthdays!

So we have been having a fun June! Max's 1st and Emery's 4th birthdays have been celebrated all month long! A wonderful stream of packages from family and friends. Lots of ice cream trips. And a general party vibe! Max really has no clue but Emery is very into it this year! Here are some pics for your enjoyment!

Max and his "scary smile"! A very funny, cute toothy smile!

Working very hard at trying to walk!

This boy loves to play! And dump out all of his toys!

We took a ride on the Yellow Trolley for Emery's birthday! Can you tell he was a bit stoked?

Acropolis for dinner. It hit the spot, as we needed good dinner as we watched the rain dump down on the city.
I had to post a few of these random Emery faces!

Max loved the lamb Gyros!
Wish you could have joined us for a lovely greek dinner to celebrate the life
of our sweet Emery!
Happy June!
